In the springtime, the hills are covered in places with colorful wild flowers, especially arrowleaf balsamroot and lupine. To the north of Highway 14, the Crawford Oaks Trailhead offers access to miles of hiking, biking and equestrian trails that crisscross the Columbia Hills with astounding views of Mount Adams, Mount Hood and the Columbia River Gorge. This area also offers a short hike to sweeping views of the Columbia River and Mount Hood. We wanted the vehicle for the same number of days on the same dates and somehow they couldn’t accommodate us. We wanted to rent through hertz we never wanted to cancel our reservation just have a different person put on the reservation. She gave us a bogus number to follow up with her supervisor. She refused to escalate our situation to her manager despite us asking her not once but three different times. She was inconsistent in what she was telling us. At this point in time we decided to book our car rental through another provider The hertz customer representative was very unprofessional. Hertz then told us after all of these cancelations and rebooking that they could have just transferred it. But because they told us they couldn’t transfer the reservation or add a second driver to the first reservation we ended up cancelling the second reservation and when we attempted to rebook the exact same reservation they attempted to to charge us 40% more. Eventually they did wave the cancellation fee. They also attempted to assess a cancelation fee even though we were still planning on renting the same vehicle for the same duration. They told me that I could not transfer the reservation or add a second driver to pick up the vehicle and I would have to cancel the reservation and have the second driver rebook it. ![]() So I called hertz to attempt to add a second driver or transfer the reservation. ![]() ![]() After booking the flights and car I had a change of plans and I (the primary driver) was going to be a day later than the rest of my group due to other obligations.
